It is engineered to complement the new generation of base plates for FARO Focus scanners. The adapter is fastened directly to the base plate using a 3/8" star knob screw. Three built-in pins engage with the notches on the base plate, ensuring the scanner remains stable and secure during rotation while scanning.

- The adapter plate is securely fastened to the original base plate of the scanner. Please ensure that the pins fit precisely in their designated positions. Verify the connection carefully before scanning!

- The adapter slot secures to the tripod via a 5/8" connection.

- The scanner with the adapter plate can easily slide into the tripod fixture and be secured safely.

- A lateral safety screw is tightened before scanning, eliminating any play between the two adapter parts.

**Notes:**

- The pins only secure precisely in one orientation within the base plate's notches. Confirm the proper fit of the adapter before scanning (the gap between adapter and base plate must be parallel!).

- We suggest confirming the adapter's alignment and marking it during its initial use.

- The overhead adapter is partially compatible with earlier FARO models (Focus3D X130, X330, S30, S120). While the 3/8" screw will fit into the scanner's base plate, be aware that there are no locking mechanisms to prevent the screw from loosening during scanning. Therefore, use with these models is not recommended. Please utilize the adapter specifically designed for these scanner types.
